Matt Frattin battled through knee injuries in 2012-13 to secure himself a spot with the Maple Leafs. He had split time between the NHL and AHL in 2011-12. He had a strong AHL play-offs, scoring 10 goals in 13 games before suffering a knee injury. Even with off-season surgery, the knee continued to hamper Frattin, limited him only 46 combined games between the AHL and NHL. Frattin played a lot with Nadem Kadri and he could have a breakthrough season if he can stay healthy for 2013-14.
