TTM: Carey Price

  A priority for the Montreal Canadiens this offseason will be resigning their all-star goalie Carey Price.  Price, a three time all-star, will be a Restricted Free Agent.  So it's not so much a question of if he'll resign, but at how much.  Price made 2.75 million last season.  In the meantime, Price is spending his summer participating in another sport, steer roping.  I sent Mr. Price 2 cards and 2 copies of a picture, one for him to keep.  He returned one card and both copies of the picture signed.  I can't remember which card he kept.

TTM: Mike Rogers

Mike Rogers played 13 combined seasons in the WHA and NHL.  His best years coming right after the WHA-NHL merger, when he scored 100+ points for three consecutive seasons.  Roger's NHL rights were own by the Vancouver Canucks.  The Canucks didn't exercise their rights to Rogers since, Harry Neale, Rogers' former coach in the WHA, didn't think Rogers was a NHL caliber player.  Rogers finished his North American hockey career with the same team he started with, the Edmonton Oilers.  After retiring, he played one season overseas in the Swiss league.  Mike Rogers is currently the colour commentator for the Calgary Flames on the radio.  Mr. Rogers signed 3 of 3.  

TTM: Pierre Larouche

Pierre Larouche was the first NHL player to score 50 goals with two different teams.  He scored 53 in 1975-76 with the Pittsburgh Penguins and 50 with the 1979-80 Montreal Canadiens.  Larouche won two Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens.  In 1983-84, Larouche scored 48 goals for the New York Rangers, two shy of becoming the only NHLer to score 50 goals with 3 or more teams.  In QMJHL, he scored 251 points in one season, a total only bested by Mario Lemieux's 282.  Back injuries shorted Larouche's career, as he retired at the age of 32.  Pierre signed 3 of 3, c/o home.  

He added his jersey number to the Rangers and Penguins card, but did not on the Canadiens card.  After searching the internet, it seems Mr. Larouche will always add his number to Penguins and Rangers cards but never to Canadiens or Whalers cards.

TTM: Claude Loiselle

Claude Loiselle played 616 games over 13 seasons.  He played on two of the more surprising underdogs stories of the NHL play-offs during his career, the 1988 New jersey Devils and the 1993 New York Islanders.  Loiselle was a  fringe player with the Detroit Red Wings, starting in 1981, until the 1985-86 season when he had a career high of 14 fighting majors and 2.96 PIM per game.  Mr. Loiselle signed 4 cards for me, including an extra Pro Set which I had offered for him to keep.  He then added a 4x6 signed picture.  Unfortunately, he had to fold it in half to fit it in the SASE I sent.  Even  though bent, I was very happy to receive the extra picture.  I sent the request to the Toronto Maple Leafs, where Loiselle works as an assistant general manager.  

TTM: Patric Hornqvist

Patric Hornqvist has led the Nashville Predators in goals in two of the past three seasons, setting a career high with 30 in 2009-10.  Hornqvist has yet to find his stride in the play-offs, scoring 5 pts in 19 career play-off games including one assist in the recent 5 game series win against the Detroit Red Wings.  Hornqvist will have to produce like he has in the regular season, to give the Predators a chance of winning the Stanley Cup this season.  So far, Hornqvist has been a solid TTM returner in his brief career.  I received 2 of 2 from Mr. Hornqvist, taking 51 days.

TTM: Tim Jackman

Tim Jackman has been a journeyman enforcer, playing for 5 teams in his 348 game career.  His best season was 2010-11, when he set career highs in goals, 13, assists, 10, and points, 23.  Tim led the Flames in PIM this season with 94 and ranked tenth in the NHL in fighting majors, with 14. He sported a 5-5-4 record in his fights, according to the voting members of hockeyfights.com.  This return sets a new record for longest return for my collection, it took 147 days.  Mr. Jackman signed 3 of 3 and returned one of the extra pictures signed.  He kept the copy with the 1988-89 OPC design.  Not sure if he was a fan of the 1988-89 OPC set or a fan of his fist on Brad Staubitz face.

TTM: Jonathon Cheechoo

Jonathan Cheechoo faded away as fast as he burst onto the scene.  Cheechoo led the league in goals in 2005-06, but within four seasons, was playing in the minors.  Cheechoo benefited greatly from the San Jose Sharks trading for Joe Thornton.  Before the trade Cheechoo had 7 goals and 15 pts in 24 games.  After the trade Cheechoo had 49 goals and 78 pts in 58 games.  Each season afterwards, Cheechoo's production dropped, until he was traded in 2009, to the Ottawa Senators, in a package deal for Dany Heatley.   In 2009-10, Cheechoo scored 5 goals in 66 games and had his contract bought out by the Senators at the end of the season.  Cheechoo has played in the AHL the past two season, trying to regain his scoring touch.  Cheechoo is from Moose Factory, a First Nation's community near Hudson Bay in Ontario.  Mr. Cheechoo signed four of four, c/o the Peoria Rivermen.
